D Day; Viola Musicians; Identity Theft

Another beautiful day in Westminster, Maryland, USA.

Lots of family stuff going on.  Grandson, Jackson, graduates from High School today.  Granddaughter, Adrienne, graduates from High School on Monday.  Yesterday, Elaine and I bought luggage sets for both of them.  Adrienne will be going to college in Salisbury, Maryland and should need luggage right away.  Jackson may study in the Westminster area, but will need luggage if he travels to Switzerland later in the year, to visit his grandmother Cole.

Nephew, Michael, is here with his wife and stepson.  They are staying with my daughter Diane's family.  We hope to see them this afternoon.  There is a rumor that they brought us some linguica from New Bedford.  If you haven't tried this Portuguese food yet, you are in for a treat when you do.  Its rather hard to get in this area, but plentiful in Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Yesterday was the 70th anniversary of D-Day, and I remember it well, except, that I can't remember if I was a paper boy or not on that day.  I don't think so.  But I remember how happy we all were to hear the invasion news.  It gave us hope that the war would be over soon.

Local News

Twin Musicians

My friend, Jim, has two granddaughters who are excellent viola players.  Vertuosi (sp?) They are graduating from High School and each will be pursuing their musical careers, albeit, in different ways.  One will be playing in some kind of National youth orchestra until college.  The other will be going directly to college.  We will be hearing a lot about these young ladies very soon.

Identity Theft

A patron of a local gym had his wallet stolen by an identity theft who has been caught after using (abusing) the victim's identity.   Shame on him!

But also: Shame on the victim!

The victim made two big mistakes:
1. He left his clothes and his wallet in an unlocked gym locker.
2. He was carrying his Social Security Card in his wallet.

He's lucky that he got ripped off by a dumb crook.  A professional would have been able to really steal his identity and would have known what to do in order not to be caught.

OOPS!  Interruption.. I'll have to cut this entry off and start anew in a little while.
